Paying Homage to the Past and Present by FASHION WINDOWS

The Sandrine Philippe FW15-16 collection pays homage to past and present. As in science, the study of the living, the organic nature of the collection is its binding force and even its creator is bound to this growth.
In this moment, genres and emotions fuse as if frozen in a black snow, the garments become cocoons, undulating, layering and knotting themselves into pieces that shelter from harsher exteriors, spaces and times.
The fur itself, remains still as if coated already by black frost that has set stubbornly on its surface. The artisanal leathers are reworked, giving a sense of wearing a second skin and seem to have been raised out of the furs of chimera, burnt and blackened from the cold.

Diane Pernet/SANDRINE PHILIPPE FW 15/16 – BY JALEESA THIJM

SANDRINE PHILIPPE FW 15/16 – BY JALEESA THIJM

Dear Diane and Shaded Viewers,

Walking through a white cold blizzard, the feeling of the Sandrine Philippe showroom. Men and women’s wear colored in black and white, filled the room together with clear white installations. Sandrine Philippe works in an artisanal way, she even has a few couture pieces in her fall winter 2015 collection. The men and women’s line are in sync and contain fabrics that have been altered with fire and are waterproof. What would happen to textile due to frost? This is the idea that Sandrine worked with while making this collection, imagining the effects on the garments and try to enclose the body instead of expose.

Best,

Jaleesa
